Like many a horror fan, I have enjoyed Rob Zombie’s Firefly family, who were introduced im 2003’s House of 1000 Corpses and its follow-up, 2005’s The Devil’s Rejects. I was very happy to hear the 3rd film in that series, 3 From Hell was in production with details of its production and casting dropping thick and fast.
In a latest development, it appears Danny Trejo is returning to the fold to star in 3 From Hell. Trejo will be returning as his The Devil’s Rejects character Rondo, one half of The Unholy Two alongside wrestler Diamond Dallas Page who played his cohort, Billy Ray Snapper. The news was broken by director, Zombie via his Instagram on Tuesday morning.
This news follows the recent casting announcements of Clint Howard (Halloween), Dee Wallace (E.T), Austin Stoker (Assault on Precinct 13) , Jeff Daniel Phillips (Halloween 2), Dot-Marie Jones (Boondock Saints), Daniel Roebuck (The Devils Rejects) and David Ury (31). These cast members will be joining the returning trio of Bill Moseley, Sid Haig and Sheri Moon-Zombie reprising their roles of Otis, Captain Spaulding and Baby Firefly respectively.
A sequel to The Devils Rejects, 3 From Hell is set to see the Firefly family return from the dead after perishing in a hail of bullets at the close of the last film. How is this going to occur? That remains to be seen but knowing Rob Zombie, it’s going to be a unique, violent and bloody vision only the great man himself could make happen.
3 From Hell is currently in production with no release date scheduled as of yet but most likely making an appearance toward the end of 2018 or beginning of 2019.
