Get ready for the next season of American Horror Story. Subtitled Apocalypse, it is a crossover between the first season (Murder House) and the third (Coven). Cody Fern will be taking on the role of a grown-up Michael Langdon, the Anti-Christ of the American Horror Story universe. Some character actors are returning from previous seasons, with many fan favourites (like Fern) joining the eighth season as new characters.
Lots of bizarre imagery to work with, which leads to lots of chances for speculation. Executive Producer Alexis Martin Woodall said of American Horror Story: Apocalypse “The story begins with the end of the world, and then our world begins.” The trailer certainly showcases plenty of apocalyptic imagery: the hourglass full of skulls, the nuclear explosion, the rotten fruit erupting into bugs, and all manner of satanic prospects. We still have a lot of questions about what to expect from the eighth season, however.
What We Know So Far About American Horror Story: Apocalypse
Not only is season eight of American Horror Story a combination of two classic seasons, but it is also bringing back some fan favorite characters and actors from those seasons. Jessica Lange is returning as Constance Langdon, and plenty of other returning actors include Sarah Paulson (who will also direct an episode), Billy Eichner, Emma Roberts, Kathy Bates, Billy Lourd, Connie Britton, Cody Fern, and Evan Peters. There are some first-timers joining the cast as well, with Joan Collins being one of the more exciting additions.
We also know the date the show will debut on FX: September 12, 2018. The show has at least two more seasons coming after that as well. That means we’ve got only about a month to wait until season eight of American Horror Story is upon us.
