Movie and TV adaptations of books are nothing new, and each year horror fans are treated to an array of them both on the big screen and the small. Now an animated series based on the Supernatural Academy books is on the way, and we have all the details. Read on.

Supernatural Academy is a new YA book series by USA Today Bestselling Author, Jaymin Eve. The story focuses on lead protagonist, Maddison James, as she begins attending the titular school as a place to learn about her (unbeknownst to her) supernatural abilities. While at the school, she is face to face with shape shifters, vampires, and other “supernaturals”. In the tradition of teen paranormal tales ala Twilight, etc., the book is heavy on romance as a relationship blossoms between Maddison and another student, Asher Locke.

Variety reports that the animated TV series is being developed by 41 Entertainment. 41 Entertainment’s Kiersten Halstead says, “with our animation expertise, we are confident that stories about shape shifters, vampires, witchcraft and magic can best be told in high-quality CG animation.” The show is expected to debut in 2021.

Aside from the Supernatural Academy series, self published author Jaymin Eve has also created a long list of other hit books, including Dark Legacy, Secret Keepers, and A Walker Saga, among others. Supernatural Academy: Year One and Supernatural Academy: Year Two are both available now, while Supernatural Academy: Year Three is scheduled to be published early next year.

At this time, no cast or crew has been announced for Supernatural Academy, but Nightmare on Film Street will keep you posted on things as soon as we learn them.
