Calling all FIENDS in or near New York City! Anna and the Apocalypse is zombie-crawling its way to the Big Apple this weekend. To welcome the movie to theaters, Regal Cinemas is hosting three exclusive Q&A sessions with Anna herself, Ella Hunt. The event is one weekend only, and it’s moderated by yours truly! You can purchase a ticket here for Saturday, December 1st at 8:30 or 9 PM, or Sunday, December 2nd at 3 PM.
For anyone who doesn’t already know, AATA tells the story of a young girl who’s sick of her small town life. Her dreams of escape become a necessity when a zombie virus makes its way to the small village she calls home. Now, her usually quiet neighbors have transformed into unthinking monsters, hungry for human flesh. Anna and her friends must find their loved ones, get out of town… and remember their dance cues. That’s right, this Christmas fright-fest isn’t just a zombie comedy. It’s a full-blown musical. Check out the trailer below.
As a huge fan of both the horror and musical genres, I loved Anna and the Apocalypse. The music is catchy, the effects are gory, and the humor’s darker than a Rudolph-less sleigh. I’m thrilled to be moderating discussions with the immensely talented Ella Hunt; she’s sure to have some great behind-the-scenes stories to tell. Ella and the rest of the crew have made a movie with all the trappings of a new cult classic, and I cannot wait for you to see it. Anna and the Apocalypse hits select theaters this weekend, and goes out nationwide on December 7th.
