Alex Garland’s spooky new sci-fi Annihilation just dropped a new clip, but it’s not as easy to watch as you might think. Die-hard Cloverfield fans will tell you, the days of simply dropping a new trailer on YouTube are over! If you want a sneak peek of the upcoming film, you’re going to have to work for it. If you head over to right now, you’ll find a very vague welcome page requesting you to “Input Transmission”. Luckily for us, the Internet Detective Agency has already cracked the code!

In the last few weeks, the official twitter account for Annihilation has been posting gifs, promo videos, and some very odd messages. These tweets clearly hinted at something larger, and fans quickly got to work decoding the mysterious transmissions. It took no time for the digital sleuths to realize that if you copy and paste these peculiar messages into the text field, you will find the decode message therein.
