Coming just after the 25th anniversary of the cult classic Army of Darkness, the Starz network has just dropped a 70’s sitcom style trailer for Ash vs Evil Dead. Fans have been begging for this new season so hard that it makes the Rick and Morty fandom look like a polite afternoon luncheon. If you’re new to the series and looking to jump in before the premiere, seasons 1 and 2 recently landed on Netflix for all your late night, blood-soaked bingeing.
Akin to the grindhouse promo for Eli Roth’s Death Wish. the retro sitcom-themed trailer shows the whole team back up to their old hi-jinks. Ash (Bruce Campbell) is out their breaking hearts and defeating evil. Class-clown Pablo (Ray Santiago) is covered in blood, taking punches like a champ and Kelly (Dana DeLorenzo) is back, ready to stab some pesky Deadites in the heart! Oh and did we mention that Ash‘s long lost daughter Brandy Barr is joining the squad?
Ash has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead until a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind and Ash becomes mankind’s only hope.
Ash, having gone from urban legend to hometown hero, discovers that he has a daughter. When Kelly witnesses a massacre with Ruby’s fingerprints all over it, she returns to warn Ash and Pablo.
Previous trailers and posters leading up the premiere have promised big things for this new season. Ash vs. Evil Dead premieres on Starz February 25, 2018. Season three will see all of the original fan-favorite cast members returning – Bruce Campbell as Ash, Ray Santiago as Pablo, Dana DeLorenzo as Kelly, and Lucy Lawless as Ruby. Lee Majors will also return as Brock, Ash‘s father, to warn his son from beyond the dead. New to the cast for the third season are Arielle Carver-O’Neill as Ash‘s daughter Brandy Barr, and Lindsay Farris as Dalton, the leader of an ancient order who seek to enlist Ash to help with their fight against The Dark Ones.
