BACKSTREET’S BACK.. From the Grave? Nick Carter Working on Slasher Horror Film

Last year, Nick Carter (of Backstreet Boys fame) made his debut into the Horror genre with the post-apocalyptic zombie/western DEAD 7. The film follows a group of gunslingers as they look to rid a small town of a zombie plague. Who also just happen to be some of his popstar pals; including two of his bandmates, A. J. McLean and Howie Dorough. As well as members from other boy bands like 98 Degrees, O-Town, ‘N Sync and All-4-One. The film aired on the SYFY Network, April 1st, 2016.

But it appears BACKSTREET’S BACK, ALRIGHT. (I’m sorry. I know I also did it in the title.. but once you got a good pun, you’ve got to run it into the ground, amiright?) Nick Carter is back for more horror, this time steering clear of zombies and cowboy hats for something a little more traditional – a slasher film.

It was during a guest appearance at last month’s Walker Stalker Con in Atlanta that Carter revealed some insights into his latest project;

(It’s) ironic, that I’m that blonde boy from the Backstreet Boys, in a boy band, that I have a very dark side to me and I cannot get away from horror. I’ve always wanted to do a slasher movie … and you come to these events, and when you see The Walking Dead or these things, it’s all character-driven. It’s about finding a character that people will remember in the time to come, and so right now I’ve got a really cool concept and a cool story. Now I’m going to start to draw the characters out, and I’m going to start to prepare. It’s going to be multiple characters in a movie (with) a little bit of comedy and a lot of horror.

Carter and Dead 7 director Danny Roew are currently working on the screenplay for their upcoming slasher movie. We’ll update you as additional details arise – cause I know you’re all eagerly awaiting this one. While we wait, lets enjoy a spooky little ditty..
