BETTER WATCH OUT Coming to Shudder in Time For a Creepy Christmas

If you like your Christmas movies with plenty of blood and scares, you’re in luck. Because Christmas horror film Better Watch Out will be hitting Shudder on December 7! It’s like an early Christmas present for horror fiends! Especially those that don’t want to stop the scares just because it’s time to be merry and bright.

Better Watch Out is a dark horror comedy from director Chris Peckover. It’s a wild take on a home invasion thriller, with a holiday setting that welcomes plenty of comparisons to Home Alone. But unlike that family classic, Better Watch Out shows just how dark and twisted a Christmas home invasion could turn out.

The wild holiday horror film has been generating great buzz from festivals, including Fantastic Fest and Fantasia Festival. The film will also be coming to Blu-Ray on December 5.

Here’s the official synopsis:

When you think the suburbs, you think safety, but this holiday night the suburbs are anything but safe. Ashley (Olivia DeJonge) thought this babysitting job was going to be an easy night, but  the night takes a turn when dangerous intruders break in and terrorize her and the twelve-year-old boy, Luke (Levi Miller), she’s caring for. Ashley defends her charge to the best of her ability only to discover this is no normal home invasion.

Better Watch Out stars Olivia DeJonge (The Visit), Levi Miller (Pan) and Ed Oxenbould (The Visit). It’s written by Zack Kahn and Chris Peckover.

I’ve been excited to see Better Watch Out ever since I heard the buzz coming from the festivals. I love a good Christmas horror film, and I can’t wait to add this one to my seasonal watch list. What about you? Will you be checking out Better Watch Out when it hits Shudder in December?
