It’s the first important month of the year, fiends! We’ve made it to May! We’ll be celebrating Mayday and all the other spring festivals of blood and sacrifice with Folk Horror all month long, but sometimes you just need a break from dancing nude in the moonlight, the blood of a virgin dripping from your mouth. Sometimes you just want to unwind with an extremely tense and unsettling movie. Let’s see which of those are streaming on Netflix and Shudder this month!

May 1st

Gremlins (1984)

Scream (1996)

Slasher: Solstice (2019)

Now, I know what you’re thinking.”Gremlins is not only a Christmas movie, but the greatest Christmas movie. Why is it landing on Netflix in May?” Well, friends, it’s because May is my birthday month, and Netflix wants to remind you to give me presents. Thank you in advance.
