Truth or Dare isn’t the only horror film headed our way in the next few weeks from the Blumhouse crew.  A new film, Family Blood, will have a limited theatrical release later this week in L.A before heading right to streaming giant Netflix at the end of the month.

If you haven’t heard of Family Blood, you’re not alone. Very few details or marketing have been released on the film, and we’re guessing it has to do with a bit of mystery surrounding the plot.

Family Blood Synopsis:

Ellie, a recovering drug addict, has just moved to a new city with her two teenage children. She has struggled to stay sober in the past and is determined to make it work this time, finding a stable job and regularly attending her meetings. Unfortunately, new friends, a new job, and the chance of a new life, can’t keep Ellie from slipping once again. Her life changes when she meets Christopher – a different kind of addict – which forces her daughter and son to accept a new version of Ellie.

What’s the mystery you ask? Well, combining the synopsis above with the poster art below, it appears Family Blood will be a film surrounding Vampirism, or some version thereof.

Family Blood is directed by Sonny Mallhi (Anguish). Vinessa Shaw (Hocus Pocus), James Ransone (Sinister), Colin Ford (Under the Dome), Ajiona Alexus (13 Reasons Why), and Eloise Lushina star.

If you happen to find yourself in Hollywood, California later this week or next, the Family Blood will be running select screenings March 16th-22nd at the Arena Cinelounge. For times and ticketing, head thisaway. Or, if you’re like myself and Hollywoodly-challenged, word on the street is that the film will be hitting Netflix streaming March 31st.
