Although Sunnydale, California is now a hole in the world, the Buffy The Vampire Slayer town will never live down the time when they had no choice but to reveal their deepest secrets via song and two steps in the season 6 musical episode, Once More with Feeling. And Mondo announced they are doing their part by releasing the musical brilliance of Sunnydale on an exclusive vinyl.

Mondo always puts great detail into their releases, and it seems this reissue has been mulled over for a few years. Mondo’s record label manager, Mo Shafeek, had this to say:

We’ve been huge fans of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” for decades…. Our obsession with the musical episode “Once More With Feeling” inadvertently presented a solution to a long standing problem of how to best entry point for us to celebrate the brilliantly singular, yet expansive series. It took a few years to get it perfect, but we couldn’t be prouder with the artwork that Paul Mann put together—including some truly inspired additional design by Chris Bilheimer and Eric Montes, who came up with the idea of the “Slaybill” lyric booklet.

Aside from the perfection that will be the “Slaybill,” the release will also include liner notes from Buffy’s creator, and writer of the music, Joss Whedon. The vinyl will be 180 gram pressed for optimum audi. The cover and inner artwork by Paul Mann is uberglorious, and I’m praying that a poster of it will be released.

You want to be one of those to be able to hear Buffy, Willow, Xander, Giles, Anya, Tara, Spike, Dawn, Sweet (the baddie of the week who brought about the song and dance), and the man who was excited that the laundromat “got the mustard out” sing their heart’s content? Be on Mondo’s website, March 20th at 12pm Central Time, when the vinyl goes live. Mondo’s releases usually go pretty quick, so if you miss out, you’re not allowed to belt out “BUNNIES! BUNNIES! It must be BUNNIES!” Jk, you can.
