The Stephen King-inspired horror series Castle Rock has been renewed for a second season, and with that comes new cast members. Joining the series this season are Robin Weigert (American Horror Story), Sarah Gadon (Dracula Untold), Greg Grunberg(Hollow Man), and Alison Wright (The Accountant). We will see Weigert play Crysilda Wilkes, the mother of iconic Stephen King character Annie Wilkes, played by Lizzie Caplan (Cloverfield). Grunberg will play Sheriff Boucher, a character that doesn’t originate from anywhere in the King canon, but was created for the show. Wright is set to play Castle Rock local Valerie, who is digging into the dark and mysterious past of her hometown. Gadon will play a character by the name of Rita Green, who has a history with Annie. All four of the new additions have experience with the horror genre in some fashion, so they will fit in well with the rest of the cast and hopefully add to the talent of everyone working on it.
If you are unfamiliar, Castle Rock is a horror series that takes place in a town of the same name. The town, along with many of its characters, are pulled from the works of bestselling horror writer Stephen King. The series can be streamed on Hulu and was created by both King himself as well as famous director J.J Abrams (Cloverfield).
While we still don’t have a release date for the second season of Castle Rock, the first was very well received and fans of the show can keep their fingers crossed for a strong follow up. Castle Rock was created by Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason (Lie to Me) and stars Adre Holland (Moonlight), Bill Skarsgard (It), Melanie Lynskey (Togetherness), Jane Levy (Evil Dead), and Sissy Spacek (Carrie). Hulu is a monthly streaming service and prices start at $5.99 per month.
