One Creeping Coconut Cat coming right up!

During Sunday’s Television Critics Association press tour The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell was announced in the lineup of new food-focused shows to stream on Netflix. It is in this series that “McConnell will welcome viewers into her terrifyingly delicious home. In every episode she will bake, sculpt and sew to create delectable confections and hauntingly disturbing decor…”

McConnell makes decorating even the most intricate replica of Hocus Pocus’ Sanderson house look like a piece of cake with her handy tips and tricks that she is happy to share. The best part of all? McConnell is just like us. She adores the macabre, seeks out the scary, advocates the unusual, and glorifies the gore.

Hot at the Shop:

As a lover of art, especially any aesthetic contrasting pretty with creepy, and an amateur cake decorator myself, when I first came across McConnell’s step-by-step cookbook Deceptive Desserts: A Lady’s Guide to Baking Bad! my mouth hit the floor. I knew I had finally discovered my true, personal icon in her and all that she represented as well as a new-found skill within myself. I was gifted the book, tried her recipes, posted them to my own social media accounts, and decorated desserts in ways I only expected to see done by professionals, even eliciting some incredibly kind compliments from Christine herself! She inspired me to embrace my femininity while also expressing my love for horror proving one was not exempt to the other, but are even more delicious when combined.

Christine McConnell finds joy in expressing herself visually, an important element for us horror enthusiasts, and by immersing herself within the sugar-coated realms of fan favorite films including Predator, GremlinsAlien: CovenantFriday the 13th, and Stranger Things. She is the ultimate cosplayer using her magnificent creations, impeccable skills, and interesting techniques to literally cook up some of our favorite horror scenes and characters. Her clever, expertly decorated edits are an absolute feast for the eyes begging you to keep staring at the details in awe, making you cringe, and causing your mouth water all at the same time.

It is going to be an absolute treat to see her in action!

Although there is no word yet on when The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell is going to be available on Netflix, you can be sure we will keep you updated. Until then, be sure to visit Christine McConnell’s website and Instagram page for a curiously charming fright fix.
