Red Band Trailer for Eli Roth’s DEATH WISH Is Grainy, Gory Grindhouse Fun

The latest trailer for director Eli Roth‘s remake of the 1974 Charles Bronson flick, Death Wish, is cocked, locked, and ready to rock! The trailer is red band, so don’t watch it near your boss – it’s definitely NSFW, and it’s definitely a helluva lotta fun! It’s done grindhouse style, with all of the grain, scratches, and 70s-style gore you’d expect. This trailer has taken a movie that I was definitely feeling “meh” about, and turned it into a must-see film for me. I’m counting the days!

The film stars Bruce Willis (Grindhouse: Planet Terror, The Sixth Sense) as Dr. Paul Kersey, a doctor who is all too familiar with the violence of his inner city – because he sees the bloody aftermath nearly every night in his emergency room. When his wife (Elisabeth Shue, of Piranha 3D and Hollow Man) and his college-age daughter (Camila Morrone) are viciously attacked, the violence from his ER is suddenly thrust upon his quiet suburban life. With the police force overloaded, Dr. Kersey becomes frustrated with how slowly justice is moving, so he decides to speed the process up by cleaning human scum off the streets with his newly-purchased arsenal of guns. As word begins to spread of a vigilante roaming the streets, the media interest grows – and the police start closing in.

The trailer is filled with lots of kickass moments, but my personal favorite has to be when Bruce Willis decides to NOT kill a particular bad guy. Instead, he lets his friend “Jack” do it. Check out the trailer above to see what I mean. It’s sure to be one of the most memorable scenes from the movie.

The film was written by Joe Carnahan, and based off a novel by Brian Garfield. Death Wish bursts into your local theater, with guns blazing, on March 2nd, 2018.
