Further talk has occurred about a possible sequel to popular horror/thriller hit Don’t Breathe. In a
recent interview at Screen Rant, actor Stephen Lang has confirmed that a sequel to Don’t Breathe is for
sure in on the agenda.
While discussing some of other projects for Lang, he confirmed with the utmost confidence that we
would see more of the blind villain in the future.
Oh yeah, we’re doing a sequel.
This is the first bit of news on the sequel to Don’t Breathe in the works since Fede Alvarez and Sam
Raimi discussed it initially back in November 2016. During an interview after the first film’s release,
Alvarez confirmed there was already discussion on that possibility:
Right now we have Don’t Breathe 2 as something we really want to do. The challenge obviously is we
just don’t want to do the same movie again and just have 2 in it… And then we had an idea that we got
really excited about, we won’t tell you what it is, it’ll spoil the whole thing…
Followed by Raimi’s statement, “It’s only the greatest idea for a sequel I’ve ever heard. I’m not kidding.”
Don’t Breathe followed as three thieves in Detroit make a living by breaking into wealthy homes in the
city. Word eventually travels to the trio of a blind man who might have a large sum of funds from a
settlement after the death of his daughter. Things go south for the thieves as they become trapped
within the home and hunted by the blind man, fighting for their lives after finding the dark secret in his
With raking in $150 million at the box office, it comes as no surprise that we would see a follow up to
Don’t Breathe. What more is there to see of the blind man? What angle would the sequel attempt to
approach? If the statements from those behind the scenes aren’t enough to promise a good reason to
come back to the hit, then we hopefully won’t have long to see.
