It was announced last November during an episode of The Talking Dead that Walking Dead fan favorite Morgan Jones would would be crossing over into Fear The Walking Dead. Ahead of the April 15 premiere, AMC has released a new trailer, teasing Morgan‘s connection with the Clark family.
Portrayed by actor Lennie James, Morgan Jones (like so may characters in The Walking Dead) is an unrelenting and fearless survivor of a post-apocalyptic zombie wasteland. A close friend of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), Morgan is the sole survivor of his family after the tragic deaths of his wife Jenny and their son Duane. It remains to be seen what impact Morgan’s appearance will have on the characters of Fear the Walking Dead but in a world overrun by the living dead, all roads lead to mayhem.
A spin-off of it’s parent-series, Fear the Walking Dead as yet to find an audience as engaged as The Walking Dead‘s. A crossover between the two has seemed inevitable since the series first premiered in 2015. The addition of Morgan will no doubt be interesting, given the gaps in his arc from The Walking Dead storyline. New showrunners Andrew Chambliss & Ian Goldberg will no doubt breath new life into the undead saga. The two have worked previously on Once Upon A Time with Chambliss also holding credits for The Vampire Diaries and Dollhouse. David Erickson’s exit as showrunner after season 3 was of course planned and, according to The Hollywood Reporter, he will stay on as a development executive for futures series at AMC.
Season 4 of AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead premieres April 15. The prequel series stars Kim Dickens, Frank Dillane, Alycia Debman-Carey, Colman Domingo with Ruben Blades, Danay Garcia rounding out the cast. Also included in the upcoming season 4 cast are Lennie James, Jenna Elfman, and Garret Dillahunt.
