First Look at Concept Art for CHILLING ADVENTURES OF SABRINA Adaptation

What’s up, witches? Archie Comics Chief Creative Officer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa posted concept art for the as-of-yet untitled Sabrina Netflix series, and it’s suitably creepy!

While Riverdale is on a mid-season break until January 17th, showrunner and all-around Archie Horror mastermind Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa posted a teaser image of concept art for the upcoming Sabrina spinoff to Twitter. The image, shown below, is very much in the vain of the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina comic books.

Concept Art for Sabrina Show

How freakin’ rad is that? I’m so stoked for this show. I’m a fan of Riverdale, especially with how weird it’s gotten in recent weeks, but Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is way more my speed. It’s creepier, meaner, and the early 60’s setting is super compelling. With the upcoming show being a Netflix original instead of a network TV teen soap opera, chances are good that audiences can expect the show to match the tone and content of the comic book series.

Between the zombie apocalypse Afterlife with Archie, moody and witchy Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, werewolf story Jughead: The Hunger, and the recently announced Vampironica, Archie Horror fans have a lot to look forward to in the coming year. Hopefully, this wealth of creativity will translate well to the small screen. Check your local comic shop for Archie Horror comics! If they don’t have them, order online.

Riverdale returns from its mid-season hiatus on January 17th. Watch it online or check your local listings for the CW. Unfortunately, there is still no concrete date for the Netflix Sabrina show’s release, but stay tuned to Nightmare on Film Street for any updates!

To get caught up on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, you can buy back issues from the Archie Comics website. Finally, follow Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa on Twitter in case he posts any more Sabrina concept art!
