I know our heads have been spinning with Stephen King adaptations as of late, but we’ve got one more for you. It’s the highly anticipated Gerald’s Game from directer Mike Flanagan (Hush, Occulus, Ouija; Origin of Evil). Watch the just released trailer above.
Based on the 1992 novel of the same name from iconic horror writer Stephen King, Gerald’s Game tells the suspenseful story of a woman named Jessie Burlingame (Carla Gugino) who accidentally kills her husband Gerald (Bruce Greenwood) while she is handcuffed to a bed. Stuck in a remote cabin with no hope of rescue, Jessie begins hearing voices and seeing hallucinations.. or are they?
The novel was adapted by Mike Flanagan and Jeff Howard. Carla Gugino, Bruce Greenwood, Henry Thomas, and Kate Siegel star.
It seems the latest Stephen King adaptations have been impressing the prolific author. He was pleased with the upcoming It adaptation (in theaters September 8th), even going so far as to review the film in a recent interview. He also praised Gerald’s Game on Twitter, after seeing a rough cut of the film.
Saw a rough cut of Mike Flanagan's GERALD'S GAME yesterday. Horrifying, hypnotic, terrific. It's gonna freak you out.

The film will have it’s US premiere at this year’s Fantastic fest, following a release on Netflix Friday, September 29th of this year.
