Since the passing of horror visionary George A. Romero, the community has been actively voicing their opinions in honoring the director with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. George A. Romero was king of all things zombie, and cannot go un-credited for inspiring an entire sub-genre of walking, groaning, brain-hungry undead. The zombie craze began with Night of the Living Dead (1968), and then Dawn of the Dead (1978), and Day of the Dead (1985) soon followed. Aside from the Dead series, his works include The Crazies (1973), Martin (1978), Creepshow (1982)Monkey Shines (1988), The Dark Half (1993) and Bruiser (2000). He also created and executive-produced the television series Tales from the Darkside (1983–1988).

It is no question that the George A. Romero was a true Master of Horror. And, rightly so, the filmmaker will be honored as the 2,621st star to be dedicated on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame.
