The Official Synopsis:

In a time when monsters walk the Earth, humanity’s fight for its future sets Godzilla and Kong on a collision course that will see the two most powerful forces of nature on the plant collide in a spectacular battle for the ages. As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into uncharted terrain and unearths clues to the Titans’ origins, a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the Earth forever.

Taking a page out of the Marvel playbook, Godzilla vs. Kong is the next film in the “MonsterVerse”. 2014’s Godzilla and Kong: Skull Island kicked off the series, with next year’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters building off an end credits scene that pit Godzilla against long running foes of Mothra, Rodan and King Ghidorah. The crypto-zoological agency “Monarch” is also expected to be featured.
