No one does Halloween like Universal Orlando. After 27 seasons of terrifying park attendees, their Halloween Horror Nights are paying special tribute to a horror staple. The B-Horror Movie.
Slaughter Sinema opens this year at the Florida theme park, and horror fans have a lot of reason to get excited. Slaughter Sinema is an interactive, fright-filled maze, all centered around fake B-horror films of the 70s and 80s. Check out the trailer to see more.
The news comes to us from Universal Orlando’s official blog. There, they go into more detail about the fake films the maze will feature, and they’re pretty hilarious. First of all, there’s Pumpkin Guts. Next, check out Amazon Cannibals from Planet Hell. Lastly, we have my personal favorite, Cult of the Beast Baby. We can assume from the trailer that the “plots” of these fake films will be probably part of the maze. Or maybe an exotically dressed woman tearing out that man’s stomach lining is part of the lobby. Who can say? While Universal is doing a great job keeping the maze under wraps, we can definitely say that the creators behind this project know their B-Horror movies. And that fans should be pleased as a result.
Slaughter Sinema opens at Universal Halloween Horror Nights Orlando on September 13th and runs until November 3rd. Check it out if you live in the area, or if you’ll be there! Until then, we want to know: have you ever attended Halloween Horror Nights? Was it all the thrills, chills, and kills you expected? And really, is there anything more terrifying at Universal Orlando than rampant consumerism that is slowly but surely wrenching from us the control over our very lives? Tell us on Facebook or Twitter!
