David Gordon Green’s latest entry in the Halloween franchise was a smashing success at the box office making a total of $251 million dollars worldwide off of a $10 million budget. The film still is making waves in the horror community with its latest news on the steelbook Blu-Ray/DVD/4K release that is available for pre-order. We finally have an official release date and information on what is going to be included in the special features – including several deleted and extended scenes!
Special features included:
- Deleted/Extended Scenes
- Extended Shooting Range
- Shower Mask Visit
- Jog to a Hanging Dog
- Allyson and Friends at School
- Cameron and Cops Don’t Mix
- Deluxe Banh Mi Cops
- Sartain and Hawkins Ride Along
- Back in Haddonfield: Making Halloween
- The Original Scream Queen
- The Sound of Fear
- Journey of the Mask
- The Legacy of Halloween
The Shower Mask Visit scene is available right now to watch, above! From the names of the remaining deleted scenes to be included, the “Jog to a Hanging Dog” sounds like Michael‘s paying a visit to man’s best friend on the way to his Babysitter. What definitely caught my eye was the “The Sound of Fear” featurette, which will most likely follow John Carpenter’s return to the series to help compose the new and improved iconic theme. Also, the featurette “The Original Scream Queen“, which of course refers to Jamie Lee Curtis, sounds like a very interesting watch.
Halloween received fairly good reviews from critics. It maintains a 67% on Metacritic and 78% on Rotten Tomatoes. Over here at Nightmare on Film Street it received a 65%. (You can read our review of Halloween here.)
Halloween (2018) will be coming home on January 15th, 2019 or available digitally December 28th, 2018.
