Coulrophobia – Is the technical term for fear of clowns.
I dare say that Stephen Kings book IT and its film adaptations really are largely to blame for this. Although I don’t think King should get all the credit here, I mean John Wayne Gacy also did his part! But at least he didn’t reside in a drain and eat people every twenty seven years (not that we know, anyway).
Up until a day ago I never realized that Laughing cow cheese and IT: Chapter 2 had anything common. But then James McAvoy, while on the set of IT Chapter 2, uploaded a picture of the cheese to instagram with the hashtag #Derryordairy. Derry, as most Stephen King fans will know, is the fictitious town where the events of IT take place. Derry is also the location where the terrifying events in many of Kings other works occur too. Seriously, you’d think that word would have gotten out by now and people would be steering clear of the place?
Director Andy Muschetti returns for It: Chapter 2, alongside It co-writer Gary Dauberman. Joining McAvoy (who’ll be portraying Adult Bill Denbrough) as the grown up Losers’ Club are Jessica Chastain as Beverly Marsh, Bill Hader as Richie Tozier, James Ransone as Eddie Kaspbrak, Isaiah Mustafa as Mike Hanlon, and Jay Ryan as Ben Hanscom. The original cast is also expected to return for flashback sequences.
Bill Skarsgård (Hemlock Grove) who played Pennywise the Dancing Clown will also return, not that it’s easy to tell with all that scary clown makeup and those terrifying teeth.
Fans of the miniseries will probably agree with me when I say that I’d love to see a few cameos from the television miniseries such as Seth Green (Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Austin Powers) and Emily Perkins (Ginger Snaps)!
It: Chapter Two hits theatres on September 6th, 2019. Are you excited? Sound off in the comments below and chat everything Pennywise over in our Horror Group on Facebook!
