IT: Chapter 2 will continue the story some 27 years later with the now adult Losers Club returning to Derry to face Pennywise once more as he wakes from his long hibernation. 2017’s IT was made on a budget of $35 million, and holds the fourth-best domestic opening weekend of any film that year with $123 million. With a $700 million international haul, IT will only continue to build upon that success when Chapter 2 hits our cinema screens in September 2019.
The continued trend of cinematic sequels is something that continues to endure with varying degrees of success. Last year however there was a remake that took the whole world by surprise when it became a global smash, courting both critical and commercial success. The film in question was IT, a remake of the notable TV movie/miniseries (1990) based on the Stephen King novel. The choice was made to split the sizeable story into two parts and the news has just broke of IT: Chapter 2 going before the lens.
