The rumor mill on the follow-up to the most commercially successful horror film of all time continues to turn for It: Chapter 2. The newest rumor is that principal photography is set to begin on June 18th, 2018.

According to Omega Underground, cast and crew for It: Chapter 2 will return to Canada this summer. They will again shoot at the Pinewood Studios, as well as returning the Toronto/Oshawa area, utilizing the same backdrop of the small Ontario town of Port Hope for fictional Derry, Maine. Giving a summer start, filming should wrap well before the holiday season. This would give the team a year for post-production to make the slated September 6th, 2019 release date.

And, this isn’t the only rumor buzzing for It: Chapter 2. Though casting of the adult roles have not been officially announced, Jessica Chastain had previously expressed interest in the role of adult Beverly Marsh. This is now looking like a serious probability. Variety reported yesterday, that Chastain is officially in negotiations to star, and while the script is still being worked on, both parties are officially discussing casting. Director Andy Muschietti previously worked with Chastain on the film Mama. The role of young Beverly Marsh was portrayed by Sophia Lilis in the first film.

Bill Skarsgard is also anticipated to return as Pennywise the Dancing Clown. Gary Dauberman, the final writer on the first chapter, returns to pen the script for It: Chapter 2. The current synopsis for the film is:

27 years later, the Losers Club have grown up and moved away, until a devastating phone call brings them back.

The anticipation of this sequel will continue to buzz as more information becomes available. There will be big shoes to fill with the success of the It. The film was a huge surprise at the box office, earning $700 million worldwide on just a budget of $35 million dollars.
