In an exclusive interview with ET earlier this week, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom star Chris Pratt made no effort to hide his enthusiasm at the thought of Laura Dern (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) returning for Jurassic World 3:
Anyway she wants to come in would be amazing […] The fact that she’d be willing to is just another endorsement from one of the original cast members, which is music to our ears.
First introduced as Dr. Ellie Sattler in the original Jurassic Park (1993) Dern has not been in the franchise since Jurassic Park 3 (2001). Laura has been on record often expressing her love for the character and her willingness to reprise her famous role, “She’s a tough feminist! We need her back.”
She would find herself in good company as one of her origianl co-stars, Jeff Goldblum (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2) has returned also. Goldblum is starring in Jurassic Park: Fallen Kingdom as the iconic Ian Malcom. Just give Sam Neil (Thor: Ragnarok) a call and we’ll have the gang back together for Jurassic World 3.
The official synopsis is as follows:
“It’s been three years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles.
When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who’s still missing in the wild and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.”
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jeff Goldblum, Daniella Pineda, BD Wong and Toby Jones. The film was written by Colin Trevorrow (Jurassic World) and Derek Connolly (Kong: Skull Island) and directed by J.A. Bayona (A Monster Calls) . Music for the undoubtedly brilliant score is being handled once again by composer Michael Giacchino (Coco).
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom stomps into theaters on June 22nd, 2018!
