With the announcement earlier this week that Anthony Michael Hall would be joining the cast of Halloween Kills and presumably Halloween Ends, now comes the surprise announcement that Kyle Richards is set to reprise her role as Lindsey Wallace in the upcoming sequel. While the Tommy Doyle character was portrayed on screen by Paul Rudd in 1995’s Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers (a movie that is no longer part of the film series’ continuity), this will be the first onscreen appearance of Lindsey Wallace since Halloween (1978).
Richards has remained active in films and television since her role in John Carpenter’s original. She was last seen on screen in the Bravo series Girlfriends Guide to Divorce and she even popped up in photos at the premiere of Halloween (2018) with star Jamie Lee Curtis. With the characters of Tommy Doyle and Lindsey Wallace both set to reconnect with series star Jamie Lee Curtis in the upcoming sequels, it adds even more speculation about what direction the two upcoming sequels might take the story. Halloween (2018) left Laurie and her family riding away thinking they had left Michael to die.
Halloween Kills is expected to hit theaters on October 16th, 2020, with David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express) returning behind the camera, and once again sharing scripting duties with Danny McBride (Arizona). Along with the already mentioned Hall and Richards, the sequel also stars Jamie Lee Curtis (The Fog), Judy Geer (Jurassic World), Andi Matichak (Assimilate), with James Jude Courtney and Nick Castle once again bringing The Shape back to life. Halloween Ends will complete the trilogy when it hits theaters on October 15th, 2021.
