The latest film in the Millennium series has just dropped a new trailer and does it look action packed. We will once again follow Lisbeth Salander and Mikael Blomkvist on their next cyber adventure.
The Girl In The Spider’s Web is based on the book of the same name written by David Lagercrantz. It will be a sequel to David Fincher’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (2011) but with a whole new cast. Claire Foy will be taking over the role of Lisbeth Salander from Rooney Mara and Noomi Rapace. Personally, I can not wait to see what she does with the character. Sverrir Gudnason is replacing Daniel Craig and Michael Nyqvist as Mikael Blomkvist. It is the fifth film to be adapted from the book series but only the second in the American series.
Based on this latest trailer, we can see Lisbeth up to her old tricks and delivering justice in the best way she knows how. But it seems that her adversary in this will be one of the people she couldn’t fight for. In the previous installments she has always been one to hold her own against terrible men including her father but in this one she will be facing off against another woman who will add a whole new challenge for Lisbeth. I’m sure there will also be plenty of corrupted politicians and cyber criminals that she will punish too.
Fede Alvarez (The Evil Dead) will direct and it will star Claire Foy (The Crown), Sylvia Hoeks (Blade Runner 2049), Sverrir Gudnason (Borg Versus McEnroe), Lakeith Stanfield (Sorry To Bother You) and Cameron Britton (Mindhunter). The screenplays adapted by Stephen Knight, Jay Basu and Fede Alvarez. It’s slated to release in theaters on November 9th, 2018.
Are you excited for the next chapter in the Lisbeth Salander series? Will you be seeing it in theaters?
