It’s been a little over a month since it was reported via Production Weekly that a sequel to Netflix’s The Babysitter was moving into sequel territory. Today, THR released a bit of news on the sequel. It seems that the majority of the cast will be returning for another round of teenage sacrificial antics.
The once babysat is among the headliners as Judah Lewis, who portrayed the Cole, the caught in the middle of a group of teenager’s demon summoning antics, will headline the film. Leslie Bibb and Ken Marino are also returning as Cole‘s parents. That’s not the majority of the cast, you say. You say right. THR also reports that Hana Mae Lee (artsy Sonya), Robbie Amell (questionably shirtless Max), Andrew Bachelor (STD stastitics aware John), and Bella Thorne (unfortunately shot Allison) will return. Spoiler alert for those who haven’t watch the comedy horror … These four don’t make it to the end of the film. Some of them not even in one piece.
So we’re probably heading into resurrection and summoning the dead territory. The official synopsis for the film doesn’t release any such detail, though.
. . . two years after our hero, Cole, defeated a satanic cult led by his babysitter. He’s trying to forget his past and focus on surviving high school., but when old enemies unexpectedly return, Cole will once again have to outsmart the forces of evil.
The cast list doesn’t include Samara Weaving whose character, Bee, was the mastermind behind all the no good demon summoning. She also came back for that one final scare at the end of the film so canonically, she’s still up for some culty shenanigans.
McG is returning as director while the script was written by Dan Lagana (American Vandal). McG, Mary Viola and Zack Schiller are producing the sequel. Filming is slated to begin on October 14.
