Black Mirror season 4 premiered on Netflix almost one year ago. Since then, fans of the dystopian anthology series have been clamoring for any information on Season 5. Today, they got their wish – albeit from an unlikely source. During an interview with Howard Stern, Miley Cyrus herself confirmed that she would be in the next season of the hit horror series.
Cyrus was clear that Netflix hadn’t given her permission to officially confirm her involvement, but radio interviewer Stern did an excellent job of drawing it out of her. When Stern probed her for more information about a secret television project, Cyrus coyly agreed to shake her head “yes” if Stern guessed it. Sure enough, he guessed Black Mirror, and Miley was true to her word.
Without ever naming the show, Cyrus went on to speak about how proud she was of the project, despite her inclination to criticize her own work. “I hate everything,” she said, “but it was the first time I’ve left somewhere feeling really proud of my work…but you know if I like it that might mean it’s horrible.”
But ‘horrible’ seems to be anything but Cyrus’s opinion on the show. In fact, Cyrus spoke at length about how rewarding and challenging her role was. Via the interview:
There’s a lot of dimension to it… and it was a really weird learning experience for me, because I was so far from home and the show is already really dark, and it’s already kind of eerie when you’re there the whole time. But I learned a lot about myself and I think I was able to kind of use that and put that into it.

Cyrus didn’t give any specifics as to exactly what that role would be or when we would get a chance to see it. But don’t worry fiends, we’ll let you know as soon as more details emerge. Because when it comes to giving you horror news, you might just say that… We Can’t Stop.
I am so sorry.
