Rejoice movie fans, for we have new footage and an official rating for Shane Black’s The Predator! AMC took to Twitter to release a behind the scenes of the making of Shane Black’s new film. You can find the footage on their Twitter.
Shane Black who serves as both writer and director of The Predator says in the clip that “after thirty years of Predator movies, it’s the right time to resurrect the franchise,” and he could not be more right. Black has a really good understanding of the film considering he was the first one killed in the original Predator (1987). Black of course has a long list of credits, including highly acclaimed action flicks including Lethal Weapon, The Last Boy Scout, and Monster Squad.

The Predator plot synopsis:
When a young boy accidentally triggers the universe’s most lethal hunters’ return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.
This new film promises to have both action and horror, and that is exactly what we look for in a Predator movie. The MPAA has officially given the film an R rating for strong bloody violence, language throughout, and crude sexual references. To fans of the series this is a huge sigh of relief. We all remember the tragedy of AVP: Alien VS Predator and how a PG-13 rating can really ruin a Predator movie. Black assured us through production that it would have an R rating but it is nice to have it on record.
The Predator stars Yvonne Strahovski (He’s Out There), Olivia Munn (X-Men: Apocalypse), Keegan-Michael Key (Keanu), Jacob Tremley (Room), Thomas Jane (The Mist), Sterling K. Brown (Black Panther) and Boyd Holbrook (Logan). The release date is coming up soon, so don’t forgot to mark September 13th on your calendars!
What do you think of the new footage? Are you excited for the revival of the Predator series?
