Shooting Wraps on Supernatural Thriller REBORN Starring Barbara Crampton, Michael Pare

The supernatural thriller Reborn starring horror Scream Queen Barbara Crampton (You’re Next, From Beyond, Re-Animator) has wrapped shooting . There aren’t a lot of details out about the film, but veteran genre director Julian Richards (Darklands, The Last Horror Movie) is at the helm. What else we do know is this early synopsis:

A morgue attendant kidnaps a stillborn baby and brings her back to life with electro-kinetic power. On her 16th birthday, she escapes captivity to find her birth mother, leaving a trail of destruction in her wake.

Acting newcomer Kayleigh Gilbert will portray the lead. Aside from the ageless Crampton, joining them is Michael Paré (Abattoir, Bone Tomahawk, The Lincoln Lawyer). Chaz Bono (American Horror Story), Rae Dawn Chong (Commando, Tales from the Darkside: The Movie) and Monte Markham (We Are Still Here, Piranha) round out the rest of the cast. The executive producer is John Penney (Return of the Living Dead 3, Hellgate). The film is written by Michael Mahin from a story written by Jeannie McGinnis. She is also producing the film. She had this to say about the production to Screen Daily:

I am thrilled to have an accomplished genre director like Julian Richards to bring it to life. He skillfully balances sympathy for the underdog girl left for dead and the chilling horrific chaos she incites.

Principal photography has wrapped in Los Angeles. Richards is looking to have the rest of production completed in time for the European Film Market and Cannes. Jinga Films and New Normal Productions are backing the film and hoping for a distributor to purchase the rights at one of these two markets as well.

With a genre veterans like Crampton, Richards Bono, and Chong – this film has major potential. What do you think about Reborn? Continue the conversation below or in our Facebook group!
