Being the home of series like The Walking Dead, The Terror, and Preacher, AMC has become a popular destination for scripted horror on cable television. Their collection grows even larger with the addition of NOS4A2 (pronounced “Nosferatu”), an adaption of Joe Hill’s bestselling 2013 novel of the same name. This past December, images of Zachary Quinto as antagonist Charles Manx were released by Entertainment Weekly. And just last month, the show’s first teaser was unveiled along with some photos of the two main characters. Now, a second teaser has dropped this week. Check it out below!
In this new teaser, protagonist Vic McQueen dreams of the series’ villain Charles Manx. A brief montage—including fast cuts of the Shorter Way Bridge, Scrabble tiles reading “The Wraith”, and someone brandishing a pair of bloodied scissors—is followed by McQueen saying the man in her dreams is involved in “something bad.”
The series’ cast includes Ashleigh Cummings (Hounds of Love), Zachary Quinto (American Horror Story), Olafur Darri Olafsson (The Meg), Virginia Kull (Mr. Mercedes), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Punisher). The series logline was revealed back in April of 2018:
“NOS4A2 revolves around Vic McQueen, a young working-class artist who discovers that she has a supernatural ability to track the seemingly immortal Charlie Manx. Manx feeds off the souls of children, then deposits what remains of them into Christmasland—a twisted Christmas Village of Manx’s imagination where every day is Christmas Day and unhappiness is against the law. Vic must strive to defeat Manx and rescue his victims—without losing her mind or falling victim to him herself.”
According to the teaser, the mini-series will premiere on AMC this summer. Showrunner Jami O’Brien has said that there’s a chance NOS4A2 could extend past ten episodes. In addition to O’Brien, Joe Hill will also be an executive producer.
