StudioCanal Unleashes Restorations of Eight Hammer Films

It has been 60 years since Hammer Studios released their version of the Frankenstein story from the lab with The Curse of Frankenstein (1957). Since then, Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing have stalked across our TV sets every Halloween, bringing us classic horror at it’s finest. Now, to celebrate Hammer’s 60th anniversary, StudioCanal is digging up eight Hammer classics and releasing them to Blu-ray for the first time ever!

All eight titles will be newly-restored with brand-new extras, and will come to us in two waves. The first wave of Blu-rays (Blood From The Mommy’s Tomb, Demons Of The Mind, Fear In The Night, Scars of Dracula) will be released on October 30th. The second wave (Dr. Jekyll and Sister Hyde, Straight On ‘Til Morning, To The Devil A Daughter, The Horror Of Frankenstein) is coming early next year on January 29, 2018.

For now, these Blu-ray sets will be exclusive to the UK and will be region B locked, so you will need a region-free Blu-ray player if you live outside of Europe. We can only hope these new restorations will see a wider release in the near future.
