If there’s a movie that’s on my lists of favorite films of 2018, it has to be Suspiria. The bonkers yet visually stunning revision from director Luca Guadagnino (Call Me By Your Name) is coming to us much sooner than we think. The official Suspiria Twitter made the announcement via a page from Patricia’s diary. At long last, people will now be able to dance with Mother Suspiriorum in their homes.

Suspiria (2018) synopsis:

Young American dancer Susie Bannion arrives in 1970s Berlin to audition for the world-renowned Helena Markos Dance Co. When she vaults to the role of lead dancer, the woman she replaces breaks down and accuses the company’s female directors of witchcraft. Meanwhile, an inquisitive psychotherapist and a member of the troupe uncover dark and sinister secrets as they probe the depths of the studio’s hidden underground chambers.

The special features will include featurettes entitled, “The Making of Suspiria,” “The Secret Language of Dance,” and “The Transformations of Suspiria.”

Suspiria landed in theaters with a limited release on October 26th. The film expanded to other theaters soon after on November 2nd. Suspiria stars Dakota Johnson as Susie Bannion with Tilda Swinton as Madame Blanc. Supporting dancers are Mia Goth as Sara Simms, Chloë Grace Moretz as Patricia Hingle with Angela Winkler, Ingrid Caven, Elena Fokina and more.

Suspiria is inspired by the classic 1977 Dario Argento Giallo film of the same name. The 1977 film stars Jessica Harper, playing a young ballet student who discovers a coven of witches inside her dance academy. Harper briefly makes a surprising and lovely cameo in the new film.

Suspiria (2018) is directed by Luca Guadagnino and written by David Kajganich with music by Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke. The dates for the physical release will be January 15th for Digital and January 29th for DVD/Blu- Ray. The film will also be distributed through Lionsgate. The film is now available to pre-order on Amazon.
