Sydney Horror and Sci-fi Film Festivals Announces 2017 Winners

After four days of blood, guts and monstrous sci-fi creatures, the 11th annual A Night of Horror International Film Festival and Fantastic Planet, Sydney Sci-Fi and Fantasy Film Festival announced their 2017 winners in Dendy, Newtown.

The biggest winner of A Night of Horror was the mesmerising Australian/Albanian co-production Bloodlands. The film focuses upon a traditional Albanian family, whose domestic problems seem insignificant when they find themselves drawn into a horrific blood feud with a witch and her kin.

Best Film at Fantastic Planet, meanwhile, went to terrifying yet deeply moving post-apocalyptic thriller Hostile, which also won for Best Director.
