Are you young? Are you disenchanted with the world? Do you think you might be a psychopath? These are certainly the criteria that James (Alex Lawther of Black Mirror, Ghost Stories) met before setting off on his gruesome adolescent journey across rural England with Alyssa (Jessica Barden of Hanna, The Lobster) in season one of The End of the F***ing World.

For those of you that followed the first season, released on Netflix soon after a short run on UK television, GOOD NEWS! The show has officially been renewed for a second season. The announcement was made on Twitter earlier this week, surprising everyone worried the show was dead and gone.

The leading duo will return along with the original writer Charlie Covell. There’s no information on who will direct the new episodes but season one director Jonathan Entwistle will serve as an executive producer. The production team hasn’t revealed many other details, however, it is safe to assume the cliffhanger we were left on at the end of season one will be tied up. Hopefully, we will get more of the darkly comic style that kept people watching throughout.

There has been some debate as to whether or not The End of the F***ing World falls into the horror category. I certainly believe it has the tropes and underlying themes which make it worth a watch for any horror fiend and it does have a self-confessed psychopath as the lead.

We haven’t been given a release date for season 2 yet, nor do we know how many episodes will be included in this new run but hopefully more details will be released soon. Did you watch the first season of The End Of The F***ing World? Where do you think the story will go?
