The trailer for the dark action, thriller Night Hunter (originally titled Nomis) has just dropped, ahead of it’s September 6th release. Night Hunter stars Alexandria Daddario of Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D, the Percy Jackson films and the first season of True Detective. The film is also starring the former Superman, Henry Cavill (Blood Creek, Red Riding Hood, Hellraiser: Hellworld), who will be the detective trying to stop this killer. Joining him in his hunt is the great Sir Ben Kingsley. It also features Stanley Tucci and Nathan Fillion (Slither). Rounding out the cast as well are Eliana Jones of the show Hemlock Grove, Minka Kelly (The Roommate), Mpho Koaho (Saw III) and longtime horror vet, Brendan Fletcher (Freddy vs. Jason, Alone in the Dark).

Night Hunter is written, directed and produced by David Raymond. He has a solid cast here which should help this British filmmaker. This is actually his feature film debut as a director, but he did pen and star in Heroes and Villains, a romantic comedy, back in 2006. Other than that, he has a short film back in 2013, The Other Man, which he wrote, directed and produced. That was a drama, so it will be interesting to see what he takes from these previous works to Night Hunter.

Official Synopsis:

A weathered Lieutenant, his police force, and a local vigilante are all caught up in a dangerous scheme involving a recently arrested, troubled man who’s linked to years of female abductions and murders.
