For many, having children is a wonderful thing but if you ask any parent out there, it can also be scary. Ahead of its September 17, 2019 release, we have our first official trailer. Reborn is boasting a pretty interesting cast and to be honest, it already had me on board when I saw the words “starring Barbara Crampton”.
If you’re unfamiliar with her work, Crampton starred in 80’s classics like Re-Animator, Chopping Mall, and From Beyond. She took some time off before returning in Adam Wingards’s You’re Next as well as last year’s Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich. Crampton is appearing here as Lena O’Neill, starring opposite her as Det. Marc Fox is Michael Paré. He also appeared in the latest installment of Puppet Master as well as Abattoir and Bad Moon. Joining them is Kayleigh Gilbert, Rae Dawn Chong (Cyrus) and Chaz Bono (American Horror Story: Cult).
A stillborn baby girl is abducted by a morgue attendant and brought back to life by electrokinetic power. On her 16th birthday, she escapes captivity and sets out to find her birth mother, leaving a trail of destruction behind her.
It caught my eye as well when I saw who was directing this cast. Julian Richards isn’t the biggest name, but he definitely has some notoriety in the genre. Most notably, he directed Darklands and The Last Horror Movie. He has been busy as another of his films, Daddy’s Girl, is making festival rounds at the moment as well. He’s working with first-time writer Michael Mahin on Reborn, but I do have to give it to him, this concept has me intrigued.
With Reborn only two months away, are you excited to see the movie? Are you planning to stream the film on VOD September 17th? Let us know on Twitter, in the Nightmare on Film Street Subreddit, and on Facebook in the Horror Movie Fiend Club!
