A new, mysterious trailer just dropped for Erik Bloomquist’s new thriller Long Lost. Things are a little strange but the film’s synopsis helps shed some more light on what’s going on here. According to IMDB, “When Seth receives a mysterious letter inviting him to spend the weekend at a secluded mansion in the country, he soon realizes the people inside the house may know him better than he knows himself”.

Now while the synopsis definitely sounds like a hundred other movies that exist, from the trailer Long Lost feels like it’s going to be a bit different from what we’re used to by leaning more into a thriller angle than straight horror. The trailer itself doesn’t give a whole lot away in regards to the plot, but it does do a great job at making things seem very…off.

If there’s one word to describe the tone of the trailer, it’d be intense. It doesn’t seem like there’s going to be any ghosts or haunting’s here, rather it looks to be going for more of the human’s being the real monsters theme. Which, to be fair, we’ve also seen a lot of over the years. However, the mystery aspect of trying to find out what’s going on helps it stand out from the crowd.

Long Lost will be Bloomquist’s debut feature film. Bloomquist is a two-time Emmy Award winner for Outstanding Director & Writers for his comedy series The Cobblestone Corridor (2016) where he also was the lead actor. He was also a Top 200 director featured on the HBO series Project Greenlight (2001). Along with his television career, Bloomquist has also done several short films that have premiered at various film festivals with a new one called Intermedium set to premiere later this year. His short She Came From The Woods (2017) can be streamed online here.
