[Trailer] Horror from Beyond the Stars with AFTER THE LETHARGY

The first trailer for new sci-fi horror film from Marc Carrete (Asmodexia) has been released. Originally shown at the “Coming Soon” section of this year’s Sitges Film Festival, you can now get a first look at extraterrestrial terror in After the Lethargy.

Written and Directed by Marc Carrete, After the Lethargy will be his second feature length film. Carrete returned to Sitges Film Festival this year to bring audiences a “proof of concept” trailer, hoping to provide audiences new scares.

The film follows reporter Sara (Andrea Guasch) who travels to the hot spot where one of the most extraordinary contacts with extraterrestrials in history supposedly took place. A forest ranger (Joe Manjón) and a sinister villager (Ramon Canals), accompany the girl, helping her to overcome the dangers that nature entails. However, despite good intentions, they will soon be attacked by a creature that lives in the depths of the forest, being forced to take refuge in an old abandoned military barracks.

This will be Carrete’s first English language film and has announced the wrap up of production with the first trailer. Carrete brought his ability as a writer/director to light with first film Asmodexia, a Spanish language exorcism film released in 2014. For him, this is something he has been wanting to do.

[It’s] the story I wanted to tell, and the movie I wanted to shootThere have been no conditions, beyond the budget of an indie film…but I’ve felt free to imagine and explain the story I had in mind

After the Lethargy will star Liliana Cabal, Andrea Guasch, and Joe Manjon. Carrete’s own film production group Creatures of the Dark Films will produce the film.

With no specific release date set at this time, After the Lethargy is projected to showcase sometime in 2018.
