It’s back… Hulu and Blumhouse officiated the renewal of their holiday horror anthology series, Into The Dark, for a second season recently. The good news comes just in time to keep the show’s scary momentum flowing with the holiday that started it all: Halloween. Paul Davis (Into The Dark: The Body) returns as the October director for a new story written by Alan Bachelor and James Bachelor (Dungeons & Derrick), but one that looks like it easily breaks the rules: Uncanny Annie.
Georgie Flores (Dumplin’), Adelaide Kane (The Purge), Jacques Colimon (The Society), Dylan Arnold (Halloween 2018), Evan Bittencourt (Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists), and Paige McGhee (Meg’s First Dance) lead a group of young adults celebrating the spookiest night of the year with some sinister consequences.
The game begins when “a group of friends decides to indulge in one of those stereotypical supernatural board games, called ‘Uncanny Annie‘. Clad in their Halloween costumes, the group sits around the game and has their own share of fun, until creepy, eerie instances begin unfolding and soon they realize the game is more than just a board and dice rolling. The mysterious game one by one brings every member’s darkest secrets to the surface and shows them their individual deepest fears coming to life, with the only way to escape being to continue playing to win and survive.” Uncanny Annie sounds like one version Jumanji that we wouldn’t want to mess with… or would we?
As usual, the remaining 11 episodes will be released each consecutive month of the year and will pack each relevant holiday full of delightful terror. There’s plenty of time to catch up on all of the first season’s episodes so you’re not left… in the dark. Uncanny Annie will premiere on October 4th exclusively through Hulu.
