Seann William Scott (American Pie, Urban Legend) will soon show you that he’s more than just a go-to comedy guy. He’s going dark and sinister in Blumhouse’s upcoming thriller, Bloodline.
In Bloodline, Evan (Scott) values family above all else, and anyone who gets between him, his wife, and newborn son learns that the hard way. But when it comes to violent tendencies, it seems the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
The first trailer for Bloodline is dark and moody, and you can sense the visceral, gory aesthetic that the film is set to show. Scott’s Evan not only has his life as a justice vigilante murderer, but he’s also a new father with an infant at home. He’s going to have to juggle being there for his family while still going full Dexter.
Just how bloody will Evan be? Nightmare on Film Street’s Kimberley Elizabeth recently caught a screening at last year’s Fantastic Fest, and gave us a taste of the bloodshed:
“ … Bloodline is gory because it is confronting. The assaults are visceral. They’re jarring. And frankly – pretty medically accurate. The camera refuses to turn away when they come. Necks subtly split open in high-definition, tight enough that if a theatre piped in the smell of pennies I’m sure a few audiences might have yakked their Alamo Nachos.”
We’re horror fiends so we’re going to enjoy the gore, but Kimberley also promises that we are “ … going to be happy to have found a new serial killer to deliver on all fronts.”
Bloodline, which is directed by Henry Jacobson, and also stars Mariela Garriga (Nightmare Cinema), Dale Dickey (True Blood), and Kevin Carroll (The Leftovers), will be released in theaters and On Demand on September 20th.
