[TRAILER] THE STRANGERS: PREY AT NIGHT Stalks Again

Be sure to lock your doors, fiends. By complete surprise there has been a reveal on the sequel to cult horror film, The Strangers (2008). Aviron Pictures surprised horror fans everywhere by quietly dropping the trailer and poster for upcoming film The Strangers: Prey at Night. Watch the trailer, above.

It has been nine years since the release of Bryan Bertino’s The Strangers. The film exhibited a pacing and sense of terror that left horror fans wanting more. The Strangers: Prey at Night has experienced ongoing difficulty with production, putting stalls in filming and pushing the release further and further out. For a long time, horror fans wondered if they were ever going to get a sequel. Well, fret no more. They’re coming.

In the first trailer to The Strangers: Prey at Night we are re-introduced to the terrifying trio of Dollface, Pin-Up Girl, and the Man in the Mask. It appears are back to terrorize another unsuspecting group:

A family’s road trip takes a dangerous turn when they arrive at a secluded mobile home park to stay with some relatives and find it mysteriously deserted. Under the cover of darkness, three masked psychopaths pay them a visit to test the family’s every limit as they struggle to survive.

Directed by Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down), The Strangers: Prey at Night looks not only to act as a sequel to the popular film but also acts to reboot the series after an extended hiatus. It seems there is no direct connection between this and the original 2008 film outside of the three masked stalkers.

Christina Hendricks, Bailee Madison, Lewis Pullman, and Martin Henderson will star. Alongside the initial cast, The Strangers: Prey at Night will star Emma Bellomy as Dollface, Lea Enslin as Pin-Up Girl, and Damian Maffei as the Man in the Mask.

Written by Bryan Bertino and Ben Ketai, The Strangers: Prey at Night will hit theaters March 9th, 2018.
