The new trailer for Venom has dropped and by god, does it make an impression.
We get a more lengthy look at the film with this trailer. Eddie Brock is a reporter. Eddie is also the unwitting host for an otherworldly symbiote. Venom is a parasite that works in tandem with Brock, forcing the latter to defend himself no matter the cost. The trailer shows us Eddie forging an uneasy partnership with his body hijacking accomplice. Motorcycle chase throw-downs, eating a dude dubbed a ‘turd’; they certainly seem to have a special relationship. We get a brief glimpse of Riz Ahmed’s villain Carlton Drake and his symbiote experiments. There’s an even more brief, blink and you’ll miss it glimpse at Riot, another symbiote troublemaker. No sign of Woody Harrelson in his role as insane Cletus Cassidy, host for the equally barking symbiote Carnage, but that would be just spoiling us.
One of Marvel’s most enigmatic, complex and badass characters comes to the big screen, starring Academy Award nominated actor Tom Hardy as the lethal protector Venom.
Venom is a villainous/anti-hero adversary and sometime partner of Spider-man. An alien symbiote, an interstellar parasite if you will, Venom has had numerous hosts through the years with Eddie Brock being possibly the most recognised. Made by Sony pictures, Venom stars Tom Hardy as Brock/Venom and is joined by Riz Ahmed, Michelle Williams, Scott Haze, Reid Scott, Jenny Slate and Woody Harrelson. The film is directed by Reuben Fleischer who will be recognised to most as the director of Zombieland.
This trailer will certainly set tongues wagging all over the internet and divide many an opinion. The trailer is pretty kick-ass to be fair, looking every inch the irreverent R-rated romp this character requires. Due to this trailer, anticipation for this film just grew exponentially. Venom hits theatres October 5th.
