VICTOR CROWLEY Is Coming to Your Home in 2018

To the delight of fans all across the world, director Adam Green announced earlier this year that he had secretly shot the fourth film in the Hatchet series and would be taking it on tour for special one-night-only showings. The film, titled Victor Crowley, was enjoyed by the people lucky enough to attend one of the screenings, saying that the film was a return to slashing form for the franchise. Now, after months of wondering, it has been announced that the film will be available for home release in 2018.

Courtesy of a post from their official Twitter Account, Dark Sky Films announced that #VictorCrowleyLives and that he will be coming home in 2018. There hasn’t been an official date set for the release, but at least we know that one is coming! The film stars Kane Hodder as the titular Crowley, and also stars Parry Shen (General Hospital) and Laura Ortiz (The Hills Have Eyes). According to the official synopses for the film:

In 2007, forty-nine people were brutally torn to pieces in Louisiana’s Honey Island Swamp. Over the past decade, lone survivor Andrew Yong’s claims that local legend Victor Crowley was responsible for the horrific massacre have been met with great controversy, but when a twist of fate puts him back at the scene of the tragedy, Crowley is mistakenly resurrected and Yong must face the bloodthirsty ghost from his past.
There are two things that stand out about this franchise; Kane Hodder’s brutal physicality as Victor Crowley, and the amazing practical gore effects. It was a return to the slasher films of the 1980’s and a welcome respite from the horror films of this century that tend to take themselves too seriously. 2017 has seen the release of some of the finest, most thought-provoking horror films in several years, but sometimes you need to turn off your brain and enjoy a blood bath. Victor Crowley looks to be just that escape.
