It’s not every day that you come across a horror holy grail (unholy grail?). But today is not every day. Just in time for Halloween, images from the almost legendary “A Nightmare on My Street” music video have appeared online. For those that don’t know, “A Nightmare on My Street” is a song by DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince himself, Will Smith. It was released in 1988 to Freddy Krueger mania and wound up hitting #15 on the Billboard Top 100. You can listen to the very 80’s song right here.

Rumors stated that a music video was to have been in the making, but it never saw the light of day (dark of night?). Until now, that is. The good folks over at MovieWeb have uncovered images from director/production designer, Greg W. Harrison. In them, we get a hint of the plot  of the video. First, we see images of a Krueger-esque dreamscape, Then, Will Smith appears to play dual roles as both himself and a freaky, punk-Frankenstein dream monster…with a Misfits Jacket? Finally, there’s an image of a storyboard for the video, giving us even more of hat the creators intended.

What do you think of the images from the “A Nightmare on My Street” music video? Are you disappointed the video never got its time in the sun (the moon? I’ll stop)?
