If I told you that Death was returning for another Keanu Reeves flick, you’d probably think I was talking about John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. Or perhaps the Constantine sequel that I’ve made up in my head (the stakes are HIGH). But no, the long awaited return of the Keanu/Death duo will be in the incredibly exciting third installment of the Bill & Ted franchise, Bill & Ted 3: Face the Music. And the Death I’m talking about isn’t the tragic end of one of the characters, but the Grim Reaper himself. As anyone familiar with Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey will remember, the personification of mortality was an antagonist turned friend of the Wyld Stallions by the end of the second film. That role was played by Die Hard 2‘s William Sadler, who will be reprising the role for the third film.
This news comes to us via the official Twitter account of Bill & Ted 3. The account has been posting regular updates as to the status of the film, though this is the first time they’ve broken any casting news. You can check out the tweet here:

Fans of the franchise will no doubt be excited to hear that another original cast member is returning, especially since the film has confirmed that both Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter will be returning to play Theodore Logan and Bill S. Preston, Esquire. With nostalgia for 80’s films like Bill & Ted at all time high, we can see why any cast member of the original project would want to return, as it’s probably quite a paycheck. Bill & Ted 3: Face the Music hits theaters August 21st, 2020.
