The first trailer for Zombieland: Double Tap (2019) has finally dropped, giving us our first glimpse of Columbus, Tallahassee, Little Rock, and Wichita many years after the events of the first film. They appear to have become more tight-knit during the time between the two movies, and are now a well-oiled zombie killing machine.

Even Columbus, who was very jumpy and unsure of himself in the original, appears to have grown much more confident. In the trailer, O=our group finds their way into an overgrown Washington D.C, where the city has been claimed by both the dead and by nature, as most of the roads and sidewalks are now fields, showing how much time has passed since Zombieland (2009), which depicted a world not so long after the dead took over.

The change of location isn’t the only thing that is new, however. We also meet a few new characters. First, we meet a pretty blonde girl who seems to meet the “dumb blonde” stereotype, but Columbus seems to take a liking to anyway. The second is a young man who says he’s from Berkley and has a liking for marijuana, as shown by the comically large bag of the drug he has in his possession. We also meet a gun-toting, truck driving zombie killer and his awkward, curly-haired sidekick that will make you think you’re seeing double with their striking resemblance to Tallahassee and Columbus. Tallahassee and his new doppelganger immediately share a dislike for one another, so we can expect to see some sort of rivalry between the two, likely over who is better and killing zombies.

Zombieland: Double Tap will see its original all-star cast return; Jesse Eisenberg (Now You See Me) as Columbus, Woody Harrelson (Natural Born Killers) as Tallahassee, Emma Stone (The Amazing Spider-Man) as Wichita, and Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine) as Little Rock.

It will be hit theaters on October 11th, 2019, so don’t miss it! Are you excited for Zombieland: Double Tap? Sound off with the Nightmare on Film Street community over on Twitter, Reddit, and in the Horror Movie Fiend Club on Facebook!
