Ok, maybe that is a slight exaggeration, but dang, is it hot out. Horror home video is a staple for many fans, but it seems extra important given the current situation to enjoy your favorite films responsibly and in the comfort of your own quarantine cube. Binge all day, wait till the kiddies are asleep, or throw your own backyard Drive-In; there’s no wrong way to gore up your summer. Thirteen Ghosts [Collector’s Edition] – June 28th, 2020

This often underrated remake of the classic William Castle film of the same name gets an outstanding Collector’s Edition treatment from the geniuses over at Shout! Factory this month. Visually, this film is a stand-out amongst some of the others released at the time and will assuredly look beautiful in this Blu-Ray release. Aside from the remake, the film is accompanied by the following features:

Graveyard Shift – July 28th, 2020

The Exorcist III [Special Edition] – July 13th, 2020

A two-disc release of this third entry in the Exorcist franchise gets a seperate Blu-Ray for each iteration of the film. A schmancy new restoration of the original theatrical cut and one for the “Legion” Director’s Cut. The War of the Worlds [Criterion Collection] – July 7th, 2020

Ok so sure, maybe this one is slightly more on the Sci-Fi end of the spectrum, but this masterpiece has all the trappings of your classic 1950’s monster flicks! This adaptation of the classic H.G. Wells story made famous by the radio event narrated by Orson Welles in the 30’s gets an update in glorious 4k along with some features on the making of the film.  There is even the aforementioned radio play included! This horror/sci-fi mainstay can be picked up here!

 

The Eleventh Commandment – July 28th, 2020

An obscure one to say the least but aren’t those the best anyway? This one brought to you by Vinegar Syndrome! A 2k restoration that comes with a few extra features:

The Outsider: The First Season – July 28th, 2020

Another Stephen King entry, this is his year! The HBO original series based off his best-selling novel of the same name gets a physical release this summer so it’s a great way to catch up if you slept on this series. The synopses is as follows:
